Chapter 10

Reporting

Reporting is where every stage change, form fill, and follow-up you have logged all quarter finally pays you back. Use it to see how families move through your funnel, spot where they drop off, and prove which channels actually drive enrollments.

The dashboard

Reporting dashboard

Playground CRM ships with a handful of pre-built reports so you have something useful the day you turn it on. Every new insight you save lands on the dashboard next to them. Click View on any card to open it in the report editor.

Multiple dashboards
You can build more than one. Marketing might live on its own dashboard, enrollment funnel on another. The Reporting tab remembers whichever one you had open last time.
Create insight

Start from a template

Click the blue + Create insight button and a template picker opens. Each template comes with a recommended use case, a chart preview, and default rows and columns you can tweak. Pick one and click Use selected template.

Time-based analysis
Lead distribution over time. Great for "am I getting more leads than last quarter?"
Stage & status
Slice by last activity date or any date field. Perfect for spotting leads going cold.
The editor

Rows, columns, values, filters

The report editor is a pivot table with a chart on top. Add properties as rows or columns, pick what to measure in Values (count, sum, average, min, max), then narrow with optional filters. Switch the visualization at the top of the preview. Not every chart type works with every shape of data.

Click Actions -> Rename and give the report a descriptive name so future-you knows what it means. Then hit the save bar as you go.
Camber AI

Build a report by describing it

Working from a template? Click the Camber AI tab in the top right of the editor and describe the report in plain English. It configures rows, columns, values, and filters for you. Refine it in chat or tweak the inputs by hand after.

Funnel insights

See where leads drop off

Funnel Conversion Reports show how leads move from stage to stage, from first inquiry all the way to enrolled. They surface the exact step where you lose people so you can go fix it.

Click + Create funnel insight from the template picker, add your stages as query steps, then tune the settings on the right.

Conversion rate
Any order (recommended)
Leads count as converted even if they hit the stages out of sequence. Real families rarely move in a straight line.
Overall conversion (recommended)
Each step's percentage is measured against the very first step, so you can spot compounding drop-off at a glance.
Make a step optional
Click the three dots next to any step after the first and choose Make optional. The step still shows in the chart but leads that skip it still count as conversions.
Housekeeping

Download or delete a report

Open a saved report, click the white Actions button in the top right, and pick Download to export a CSV or Delete to remove it from the dashboard.

Report: Leads by source
Click Actions -> Download to export the report as a CSV for outside analysis.
Click Actions -> Delete to remove the report from your dashboard entirely.
The point of all this
Reporting only works if the rest of the CRM is being used consistently. Stages have to move, tasks have to close, forms have to fire. If the numbers look wrong, it is almost always because something upstream is not being logged, not because the report is broken. Go back to Chapter 1 and check the foundation.
